International activity

 

International activity of the university aims at integration into global and European scientific and educational space due to the development of academic mobility, foreign citizens鈥 training, cooperation with universities-partners, participation in European programs of academic mobility of students and lecturers, mutual educational programs of two diplomas, practices, internships, and qualification rise to improve the quality of study process and scientific research.

The international activity of the university is based on the principles of the European declaration of higher educational establishments 鈥 Magna Carta Universitatum, whose participant it has been since 2005. The university is a member of the European Association of Universities, a foreign member of the Higher Engineering Schools Network of France 芦n+i禄, a member of the Baltic university program BUP, and the International Association of scientific and technical university libraries IATUL.

12 international educational centers of well-known world companies are functioning at the university, among them: the regional network academy 小袉S小袨; the certification center VUE; the regional training center Schneider 袝袉械褋tr褨褋; the academy 袦褨褋rosoft 袉孝.

The university signed direct agreements with more than 100 universities in the world, namely Poland, Germany, France, Sweden, Spain, Slovak Republic, Romania, Lithuania, the USA, Canada, Great Britain, and Turkey. Some bilateral agreements on joint educational programs of two diplomas have been implemented with the universities Lublin Polytechnic and Opole Polytechnic (Poland), Schmalkalden University of Applied Science (Germany), Cergy International high school of computer science and information technologies (France), the University of Occupational Safety Management in Katowice (Poland), as well as some interinstitutional agreements within the European program of academic mobility framework Erasmus+ with the University of Valencia (Spain), Kaunas technological university (Lithuania), the universities Lublin Polytechnic and Opole Polytechnic, the Wroclaw University of Economics and Nysa High School (Poland), the Kosice University (Slovak Republic), Bialystok Polytechnic (Poland),聽 Schmalkalden University of Applied Science (Germany), Technical University of Gabrovo (Bulgaria), University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of Cluj-Napoca (Romania), University 鈥淒unarea de Jos鈥 of Galati (Romania),聽 University of Petrosani (Romania), Iskenderun technical university (Turkey).

The students of the university participated in the academic mobility programs in 2022, namely, 27 students were trained abroad by the degree mobility programs, among them 4 students 鈥 double diplomas program, 16 students- credit mobility, and 7 students 鈥 practice.

13 representatives and scholars of foreign higher educational institutions, associations, and companies visited our university in 2022.

Joint program development, namely double diploma programs, is one of the priority directions of the university鈥檚 international cooperation maintenance. Double diplomas programs have been implemented with the university 鈥淟ublin Polytechnic鈥 (Poland) on all Master鈥檚 programs of the university; with 鈥淥pole Polytechnic鈥 (Poland) on the specialties: 鈥淎utomation and computer-integrated technologies鈥; 鈥淐ivil engineering鈥; 鈥淓conomics鈥; 鈥淓lectrical power engineering, electrical engineering and electromechanics鈥; 鈥淚nformation systems and technologies鈥; 鈥淢echanical engineering鈥; 鈥淎utomobile transport鈥; 鈥淢arketing鈥; 鈥淢anagement鈥; 鈥淚ndustrial engineering鈥; with Schmalkalden University of Applied Science (Germany) on the specialties: 鈥淚ndustrial engineering鈥 (Bachelor, Master of Science), the language of instruction is English, 鈥淢echanical engineering鈥 (Bachelor, Master of Science), the language of instruction is English, 鈥淓lectrical engineering鈥 (Bachelor), the language of instruction is English, 鈥淪oftware engineering鈥, 鈥淐omputer engineering鈥, 鈥淐omputer science鈥, 鈥淐ybersecurity鈥 (Bachelor), the language of instruction is German.

Four students 鈥 Bachelors studied at Schmalkalden University of Applied Science (Germany) in the specialties: 鈥淚ndustrial engineering鈥 and 鈥淐omputer science鈥 through the double diplomas program, and two of them were awarded Bachelor of Science Diplomas from Schmalkalden University.

In 2022, 16 students of the university took part in the academic mobility programs Erasmus+: University of Valencia (Spain), the university 鈥淟ublin Polytechnic鈥 (Poland), Nysa University of Applied Science (Poland), Schmalkalden University (Germany), Cluj-Napoca University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine (Romania), Kaunas technological university (Lithuania).

39 lecturers and scholars of the university took part in the academic mobility programs, and 6 of them had their internships in the Erasmus+ program, 1 lecturer 鈥 in the Fulbright program in Ukraine, and 32 鈥 according to the individual programs of academic mobility, namely at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (USA), the University of Bielsko-Biala (Poland), Humboldt University of Berlin (Germany), Institute of European languages (Poland), Slask Institute of health (Poland), University of applied sciences of Hamburg (Germany), University of Texas (the USA), Institute of digital technologies (Great Britain), Scientific-research institute of welding technologies named after Paton (China), Pascal Institute of the University Clermont-Auvergne (France).

Apart from the program of academic mobility, some programs are being developed at the university where internships and production practice are the most essential components. 7 students had their internship in the recreational complex Panorama Morska (Poland) in 2022.

In 2022 8 project application forms were submitted; 4 international projects are being implemented:

  • Erasmus+ program under Jean Monnet鈥檚 direction 鈥淚nterdisciplinary approach to the study of wastes management: European practices implementation鈥. The project will have been implemented within 2021-2023.
  • Erasmus+ program 鈥淓uropean practice of smart production digitalization for sustainable industry 4.0鈥. The project will have been implemented within 2022-2025.
  • “Extending NOTOCORD-Sense with behavioral analyzers to enable neuro-cardiovascular assessment in a cloud-based architecture” (Horizon 2020). The project will have been implemented within 2020-2023.
  • Smart Manufacturing聽Innovation, Learning-labs, and聽Entrepreneurship鈥檚 (SMILE) within the programEIT Impact Framework. The project will have been implemented within 2022-2025.
